Construction of a new wing for the Hospital Center of the Ardennes.
Libramont / 2016
The new wing built and put into service in 2013 houses the following services: a laboratory, a revalidation and hydrotherapy center on the ground floor, day hospitals on the ground floor, long-term care units on the first floor, consultations and an internship reserved for second-floor staff
A palliative care center, the Aubépine, completes the program. Located on the top floor, it has a terrace open overlooking the city.
Illuminated galleries provide medical and logistical links with the main building.
The newly constructed modular building is of the 'low energy' type with an overall k-value of less than 35, a large capacity, thermal insulation and optimum airtightness.
The compact width of the floors ensures ideal penetration and natural lighting quality.
The energy and technical objectives guiding the design and studies were as follows:
- to limit the risks of nosocomial proliferation and, if necessary, to allow disinfection of aeraulic circuits,
- Minimize the installation and operating costs (energy consumption) of the installations,
- to facilitate and minimize equipment maintenance costs,
- Limit the risk of user complaints.
The technical concepts listed below, limiting energy consumption, have been implemented:
- high efficiency lighting fixtures,
- heat recovery on mechanical ventilation air,
- condensing boiler,
- low temperature heat distribution,
- effective and automated solar protection,
- distribution of hot and cold water with variable flow according to real needs in the building,
- free cooling,
- night cooling,
- heat recovery at refrigeration production
